The latest work at Peartree......

In the living room, Charles has designed and fitted small flip open windows to let in the natural light...

Hes  fitted an old door that opens into the garden, and done a lot more insulating...

The stair case from the kitchen is looking mighty fine too, with a neat work space at the side and fine plastering. You might even notice that he has wood paneled , all the stairway using reclaimed church pews !

Here is my favourite thing, the unwanted aga, that he has fitted and is now working a treat ( I know as I have cooked on it recently ! )

I love the old door he has chosen for the doorway from the living room into the kitchen.

Here you can see the lovely kitchen , Charles has restored an unwanted cupboard for the belfast sink and added hand made knobs, as well as cutting down an old cupboard and making me the large pine larder, its marvellous and very beautiful !

I had to show the floor in the kitchen, all created by Charles.

Another beauty of a door with hand made hinges...

You can see the paneling on the stairs and my little peep window which shows the clock face on the clock tower opposite :)

more of that amazing paneling....

At the top of the stairs it opens out to the library landing. Look at the lovely ceilings !

A close up of those ceilings and the paneling around the window there.

Also Charles commissioned local potter Marcus Holmes to hand make the ceiling roses using clay dug from the footings of the building.

Now the master bedroom has been plastered !

Its such a beautiful airy space, I am looking forwards to sleeping there.

The roof is made up of recycled pallettes, carefully cut and nailed into place, behind which nestles the sheeps wool that he has carefully chosen to insulate .

A view from the handmade window in the master bedroom.

This is taken from the far side of the master bedroom looking down towards the library landing and the new hallway that has been built.

These are special windows designed to catch and push light into the bathroom and Finns bedroom from a light box. Charles has used rose tinted vintage glass.

The ceiling in Dotties room is going to be rather spectacular, due to the recessed lighting.

Heres the hallway....

The arched window in the bathroom !!

The attic space which Mr Finn is very interested in !! ( as den space !)

Finns room is now taking shape, Charles is also building him a bed in there and a desk, using reclaimed antique furniture.

At last the bathroom, is getting there, I cant wait to be in the bath !

Here you can see the wall being created, the wonderful arched window and door.

Its going to be a very cosy place.

Attention to detail everywhere !!

Here are those rose tinted windows again.

Its all getting very exciting !!!

The front room and master bedroom.....

Here you can see a rare glimpse of Charles admiring his insulating in the front room at the far side of the building.

Here is the master bedroom so far, with roof restored and beams replaced and made safe again...

You can also see in the above photo the sheeps fleeces that he will use to insulate the upstairs instead of the horrible fibre glass type that you can get.

Below is the start of the formation of Finns bedroom.

and more.....

Lets take a look inside......

Originally this building was just a stable and already Charles has transformed it...

He has built a beautiful archway into the middle room, from the art room-studio.

Hes put some superb beams in the art room and sorted the ceiling.

The door you can see with a heavy concrete lintel is the downstairs wc and shower room.

Also lovely beams and ceiling, lots of attention to detail.

The fire place that he has built with fine woodburner installed.

As you can see the back door opens straight out onto the canal. Great for fishing and watching the world go by !

Lovely reclaimed front door is fitted.

The original hayloft shutter door is being kept, and a new glass window is being made to go underneath.

The windows have been especially made, that you can see above, in the art room, They slide open :)

Hes also been on the roof to build the chimney and crown it with pots and to do the tiling !

As you can see its all taking shape.

Hes even added original drain covers and cobbles.....

Hand made windows all round :)

That very skillful archway again.....

From the middle room, we can see into the kitchen..... the foot of the stairs...

Above the back door you can see the wonderful hay rack that he installed using reclaimed timber.

The peaceful view from the back door...

Heres a close up of the stone lintel above the downstairs wc, he always uses reclaimed materials where ever possible.

The stair case that Charles has fitted, going from the kitchen to the upstairs. Its a reclaimed 15th century stair case !

and much more coming very soon !
